An Afternoon Visit to the Acropolis Museum and the Acropolis

This tour starts at 01:45 pm The tour begins Inside the Acropolis Museum,where some of the most important artifacts of Greek antiquity are displayed!
 
The Acropolis Museum is the definite must for everybody visiting the city and the best way to complete the archaeological guided tour to the Acropolis of Athens. The Acropolis Museum was designed by Swiss architect Bernard Tschumi in co-operation with the Greek architect Michalis Photiadis. Its unique design has incorporated the excavations which are visible under stunning glass floors!

The Acropolis masterpieces are marked out and given the prominence they deserve through the ideal interior atmosphere conditions, the natural lighting, as well as easy visitor access, panoramic views and excellent layout of the exhibition areas. It exhibits about 4,000 artifacts.

The Acropolis the landmark of Greece!


You will enter the Acropolis from the south slope so as to avoid the crowds and also to visit the Dionysus sanctuary and Dionysus Theatre built in the 5th century BC. As you begin to ascend the sacred hill a breathtaking view of the city below will unfold. Your guide will give you a detailed explanation of the glorious monuments of the Acropolis such as, the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Propylaia, the Nike Temple, the Agrippa Monument and the surrounding monuments such as the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Observatory as well as the Philopappos, Mars Hill, and Pnyx Hill.

Free Time
The tour ends on the Acropolis where you can stay as long as you like to enjoy the views and to take your pictures
On the way to the Acropolis and before you start the guided tour of the Archaeological site, at about 3:30 pm, you will have time to get a sandwich or a drink.

The tour ends at the Acropolis at about 5:00 pm

MEETING POINT


The meeting point is inside the Acropolis Museum, in front of the info desk next to the cashier, where the Acropolis Museum tickets are issued. Your guide will be waiting there for you holding in his/her hands the orange colored Athens Walking Tours sign. Your guide will help you or will purchase the tickets for you depending on the traffic so that you skip the lines. Please make sure that you get there at 1:30 pm because this tour starts at 1:45 pm.

Entrance tickets (25 € / adult) are not included in the tour's fee. Teenagers and children are entitled to reduced tickets (please see Entrance Fees' section).

ENTRANCE FEES


Admission fees for all places we visit during the Just the Acropolis & Acropolis Museum Tour (Parthenon, Nike temple, Propylea, Erechtheion, Dionysus Theatre and Acropolis Museum) are not included in the tour's price.

Entrance Ticket Prices


From April 1 to October 31
  • 25 € for the adults, covering all the sites that will be visited
  • 13 € for students from non-EU countries  (with current student ID)
  • 3 € for young persons under 18 years old from non-EU countries
  • Free for young persons under 18 years old from EU countries and students from EU countries (with current student ID)
  • Journalists are entitled to free entrance to the Acropolis by presenting their current identification card.
Note: If you intend to stay longer in town and want to visit more places, then there is a combo ticket available at 30 Euros which allows you to visit 7 places (the Acropolis with all its monuments, Dionysus Theater, Zeus Temple, the Ancient Agora & the Attalos Museum, Hadrian’s Library, the Roman Forum, the Kerameikos with its wonderful Museum and  Aristotle’s  Lyceum) within a 5 days time span.
