As we anticipate a heatwave from Thursday, June 26, to Saturday, June 28, Athens Walking Tours is making adjustments to ensure you have the best possible experience.
To protect your well‑being, we have decided to adjust the starting times for all our tours during this period. The goal is to avoid the hottest hours of the day and to ensure a more enjoyable experience for our guests.
Please be aware that Greek authorities often close the Acropolis site between 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM during periods of extreme heat, sometimes with very short notice. In an effort to stay ahead and make the most of your visit, our tours have been rescheduled accordingly.
New start times have been implemented for all tours from June 26–28 2025.
We recommend bringing a hat, applying sun protection, and staying hydrated.

She turned the history into a story so we learned about and enjoyed our surroundings. Well worth it! We enjoyed an excellent "highlights tour" through Athens Walking Tours in 2014. Based on that, we booked AGT40B (Acropolis & Parthenon... Extended Edition") for our return in 2024. The early start was worth the effort because we beat the crowds and heat. Niobe, our guide, was excellent. She was informative and easy to understand and walked at a manageable pace for the group of 15 to 20 people. She even knew a shady spot where we could get off our feet.
