What You Will See and Do
With your local licensed private guide, you will enter the Acropolis from the south slope where you’ll visit the Dionysus Sanctuary and Dionysus Theater before you walk up the slope leading to the Acropolis monuments. Panoramic views of the city will be perfect for Instagram-ready photos.
You will enjoy an in-depth, comprehensive guided tour of the Acropolis and all its magnificent monuments including the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Propylaia, and the Nike Temple. From the top of the Acropolis, you will be able to admire other significant sights of Athens including the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Ancient Agora, the National Observatory of Athens, and the city’s scenic hills: Filoppapos, Mars, and Pnyx.
After your Acropolis tour with your guide you will visit the Ancient Agora, making your way through the narrow streets of the picturesque Plaka. There, your guide with their narrations will bring to life the Market place, where ancient Greeks used to do their trades, but also used to gather to discuss city matters, thus, creating the idea of Democracy. See and capture with your camera the South Stoa, the Tholos, the Monument of the Eponymous Heroes, the Altar of the Twelve Gods, the Temple of Hephaestus, and many more. Visit the beautiful Agora Museum, housed in the Attalos Stoa, and see a rich selection of artifacts used in the daily life of the Athenians. After the conclusion of the visit, your guide will depart, leaving you to enjoy and further explore the site and the old part of the city.
Note: After the first part of the tour, which ends on the Acropolis, you will have time to take more photos before walking to the Ancient Agora with your guide. Before the guided tour to the Agora, there will be no time for a leisurely lunch, so please make sure you have a snack and bottle of water with you.
Skip-the-Ticket Line Access
We are pleased to offer all our guests a convenient skip-the-ticket-line service. We take care and pre-purchasing the entrance tickets for each archaeological site and Museum visited during the tour, saving you the hassle of buying them online or queuing up at the ticket counters. However, please be aware that even with our skip-the-ticket-line service, there might be some waiting time required for security checks. This is because visitor numbers can fluctuate unpredictably at the sites throughout the day. The typical waiting time falls within 0 to 10 or 30 minutes, though on rare occasions, it might be longer.
However, here's where our service truly shines: Even amidst a queue, our experienced guides will always stay by your side. They will use this time as an opportunity to kickstart your tour, offering in-depth explanations about the history and significance of the site you're about to explore.
