Where is the the Ancient Agora ?

It is in the North and at the foot of the Acropolis Hill.

Where is the entrance to the Ancient Agora?

There are two entrances to the Agora site: the main one is on Adrianou road in the South and the side one in the North; you find it coming down from the Acropolis from the North.

What do I see in the Agora?

The excavations site, the Hephaestus Temple and the Attalos Museum.

What are the opening hours?

The oppening hours of the Ancient Agora are the same as those of the Acropolis.

Summer opening hours from 8:00a.m to 20:00p.m.

Winter opening hours from 8:00a.m to 15:00p.m. (until April 30 2010).

How much is the admission fee?

If you have already purchased an Acropolis ticket then you may also use it to visit the Agora and the Attalos Museum. If not then the entrance is 4 Euro for adults, 2 Euro for students and all Young people under 18 are free of charge. 

Is it steep and is there climbing involved?

No it is not steep at all, on the contrary, it is very flat and a wide open space. As always, it is wise to wear a pair of comfortable walking shoes. 

Do I need a guide to see the ancient agora?

Yes, especially for the Attalos Museum. A good guide book would also be very helpful.
