Most visitors who come to Athens make the first mistake of providing a one or two day allotment for seeing the city. The second mistake that they make is that they never really get to see some of the best sites that Athens has to offer. I am hoping that after reading our blog you will adopt a new perspective on Athens this summer.
Escaping the hustle and bustle of the city is much easier than you thought. Save a day from you sightseeing schedule to discover the Athenian Riviera. Take the tram and take a leisurely trip to the southern suburbs slowly leaving the marble and concrete for the bright blue of the Saronic Gulf.

Summer In The City Just Got A Whole Lot Better
Now wouldn’t it be a shame not to take a swim, especially on such a hot day. And just look at the water, so blue and clear, beckoning to you. The Athenian Riviera is dotted with so many sparkling beaches running along the coast. There are free beaches and there are private beaches where an admission is charged. The only difference between the two is that the private beaches have umbrellas sunbeds, showers, restrooms, changing rooms, cafes and restaurants. The tram will take you all the way to Voula and between Voula and Athens you will find the public beaches of Alimos, Agios Kosmas, Glyfada and Voula and the private beach of Akti Iliou.
