Carnival season has taken off in the streets of Athens. “Apokries” is the Greek name for the Carnival time. The time has come for celebrations, parties, activities and events for people of all ages. The municipality of Culture, Sports and Youth, organised a wonderful program full of interesting activities, concerts and workshops.
A long party full of energy and fantasy has been planned for the Athenians and tourists in the city. Notably in the neighbourhoods of Plaka and Moschato, with fancy dress parades. Carnival ends on Kathari Deftera (The Ash Monday), which is a public holiday. Everybody is dressed up, singing and dancing around the streets of Athens. Feel the carnival vibes and get the chance to join the Carnival celebrations and activities in the city.
