Your can continue with the Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon tour where you will enjoy breathtaking views and you will take amazing pictures.

Option 2

Option 3

If your time in Athens is really limited combine history and gastronomy in just one tour. Book our Private Acropolis & Athens Food Tour. See the Acropolis, the landmark of Athens and enjoy traditional delicacies in just 5 hours!

Except from our private tours which can be arranged for any time convenient for you, there are also some small group afternoon tours. It is the Sunset Acropolis Tour, the Acropolis Museum tour, the Ancient Agora and also the Cape Sounion Tour.

If you book a private tour you can visit the Acropolis any time convenient for you. Our group tours visit the Acropolis at about 11:30 am. People believe that going up to the Acropolis very early they will avoid the crowds but they get negatively surprised as many people make the same thought. We advise you to go shortly before noon that most of the early visitors are gone and the Acropolis is usually less crowded.

At Athens Walking Tours, we pride ourselves on providing two types of immersive tour experiences: private tours and shared small group tours. Each option offers unique benefits that cater to different travel preferences, and both offer the advantage of provided earsets to ensure the best possible audio experience. Here's what to expect from each tour option:

Private Tours

Private tours are exclusively tailored for individuals, families, or groups who seek a personalized touring experience. When you book a private tour, your party will be the only participants. This allows for a flexible itinerary customized to your interests and pace. Note that private tours come at a higher cost on a per-person basis because the tour resources, including the guide's time and expertise, are devoted solely to your party.

Every guest on a private tour will receive an ear set. This not only enhances the audio experience but also allows guests to maintain a comfortable distance from the guide and other party members while still hearing every intriguing detail about Athens' rich history.

Advantages of Private Tours:

Personalized Experience: Tours are tailored to your group's interests, needs, and pace.

Exclusive Guide: Your guide's full attention is dedicated to your group, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging experience.

Flexibility: Adjustments can be made to the schedule and itinerary as per your preferences.

Privacy: The tour is exclusively for your group, offering a more intimate environment.

Improved Audio Experience: Provided ear sets offer better audio clarity and freedom to move about without missing any information.

Shared Small Group Tours

Shared small group tours are designed for solo travelers or small groups who enjoy the opportunity to meet and interact with other like-minded explorers. Group sizes for these tours range from a minimum of 2 participants to a maximum of 24, averaging around 16 persons per tour. These tours are a cost-effective option as the expense is shared among the participants, reducing the per-person cost.

Similar to private tours, guests in shared small group tours will also be provided with ear sets. This ensures everyone can clearly hear the guide's commentary even if they choose to keep some distance from the group for personal comfort.

Advantages of Shared Small Group Tours:

Cost-Effective: As the tour cost is shared among participants, this makes for a more affordable per-person price.

Social Interaction: Offers an excellent opportunity to interact and share experiences with fellow travelers from around the globe.

Structured Itinerary: Shared tours follow a set itinerary, ideal for those who prefer a planned schedule and do not wish to worry about logistics.

Balanced Attention: Despite the group setting, our guides ensure every participant receives personalized attention, ensuring an engaging and immersive experience.

Improved Audio Experience: Provided ear sets mean you can clearly hear the guide's commentary, no matter your position in the group.

Regardless of whether you choose a private tour or a shared small group tour, our aim at Athens Walking Tours is to provide an unforgettable exploration of Athens. Our knowledgeable guides are passionate about sharing their insights into Greek history and culture, promising a tour experience that will leave lasting memories.

Is there a minimum number of participants required to conduct a shared small group tour?

No, there is not. However, we usually require at least 2 participants for the shared small group tours. In the rare event that there are no other participants and you are traveling solo, we will contact you to discuss all open options. We are committed to ensuring you have an enriching and enjoyable tour experience, regardless of the circumstances.

How large are the groups on the Athens Walking Tours?

The group sizes for our shared small group tours can vary, but they are always kept within a range that ensures an intimate and balanced experience for every guest. This allows each participant to interact meaningfully with the tour guide and fellow participants. Here are the specifics for each type of tour:

Cultural - Historical Tours: For these enlightening tours, the group size can range from a minimum of 2 participants to a maximum of 24, with an average group size typically around 14 people.

Food and Wine Tours: On our gastronomical adventures, we keep the groups smaller to facilitate a more intimate experience. Group size ranges from a minimum of 2 participants to a maximum of 16, with the average group size being about 8 people.

Cooking Lessons: In our hands-on cooking classes, we want to ensure each participant gets personal attention and guidance, hence we limit the group size to a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 16 participants, with an average group usually consisting of 6 people.

Regardless of the type of tour you choose, we maintain optimal group sizes to ensure every guest enjoys a rich, interactive, and personal experience with us at Athens Walking Tours.

Do you offer private tours for individuals or small groups?

Yes, we do! Our private tours are perfect for individuals, families, or small groups who prefer a more personalized and exclusive experience. When you book a private tour, your party will be the only participants, allowing for a tailored journey through Athens at your preferred pace.

Will I still have a personal experience if I opt for a shared small group tour?

Absolutely! While shared small group tours include more participants, we maintain a balance to ensure each participant receives personalized attention. Plus, every participant receives an ear set to clearly hear the guide's commentary, regardless of their position in the group.

What measures do you have in place to ensure everyone can hear the guide clearly in both private and shared small group tours? Do you provide ear sets or headphones or earbuds?

To ensure that everyone can hear the guide clearly, regardless of the group's size, we provide ear sets (usually earbuds) for all guests on our tours. This not only enhances the audio experience but also provides the freedom to move about comfortably without missing any captivating details about Athens' rich history.
